Mandragora Radio can be heard with the RealAudio Realplayer®, which now comes as a plug-in with Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator. If your browser does not have a RealPlayer® associated with it, you can download it for free from www.real.com (you'll have to hunt for the 'Free Player' link). Detailed help about specific RealAudio problems can be found on the RealNetworks Support Page.

Webcasts (found on the Radio page): click on either the NOISE or Radio Mandragora icon, depending on which broadcast you wish to hear. This will generate a random playlist corresponding to your exact musical needs at the moment.

If you have RealAudio RealPlayer installed on your computer, these links should automatically download the playlist file and open your RealPlayer.

REALPLAYER: You can scroll through the list by clicking the button to the right of the "Playlist" window on your RealPlayer®, but you won't know what the cut will be until you actually choose it. For the best info about the current track, we recommend enabling the Clip Info, Playlist, and Status Bar in your RealPlayer (found under the 'View' menu).
RealOne Player: The RealOne Player has a different layout than the previous versions. Clip Info is found in the 'View' Menu under 'Clip', and the full playlist can be opened through the 'Now Playing' icon on the bottom toolbar (if you don't see it, open 'My Library' in the 'View' menu, then 'Now Playing' will be on the bottom left.)

ERROR MESSAGES: Occasionally you might get error messages when trying to connect to the webcast, after the RealPlayer® has popped up. A common message is "Currently AutoUpdate has no plug-in available to play your selection". This usually occurs when the server hosting the audio files is down or having problems. The best rule of thumb is either move to the next cut or close the RealPlayer® and try the link a second time. If the message pops up again, try back in a while. We at Weirdsville check the site several times a day to make sure things are up and running, and any problems are usually solved within a few hours.

Why mono? Though RealAudio now has quality stereo capabilities, we have chose to stick with the smaller mono files. Since not everyone has super-fast internet connections or modems, our experiments showed that mono streams better and cuts down on the dreaded net congestion. We'd rather sacrifice a little bit of sound quality to let the music flow as smooth as possible, plus most of our cuts were originally recorded in mono anyway.
